Phoenix Rising

Phoenix Rising

Hello there, how are you doing today? I hope all is well. I’m very excited and wanted to share with you my latest piece of art, Phoenix Rising. I thoroughly enjoyed co-creating this piece. I kept seeing the word Phoenix all over the place a few weeks ago, hearing people speaking about Phoenix and also seeing images of various Phoenix images and I realised I was noticing this sign because it is so clear that this where we are right now in evolutionary terms. With all that is happening on Mother Earth, humanity is being called to invoke Phoenix energy to burn away all that no longer serves, to the ground where required and to recreate ourselves and our impact on this beautiful planet. Once the earth is scorched and fertile, new growth is born and will flourish. Half measures just won’t work.

So I sat with myself, getting really quiet within and tuned into this energy of the Phoenix Rising. I could feel the energy and power and whilst on the one hand it felt quite frightening it also felt very cleansing and hopeful. I sketched out the images that were coming to me on some paper and then when clear I began to create this piece.

I wanted to use Egyptian Papyrus because of its ancient feel and the way it is hand made creates a totally unique paper, that you can feel its originality. It is an A3 size piece and I worked with Indian Inks for the Phoenix and the black background and soft pastels for the flames behind him. It is mounted on a thick card mount to flatten out the papyrus, as it naturally is not flat, but this image does not show the mount.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing him and hearing the story behind his co-creation – if you’d like to see him at my Gallery please visit my website Gallery page for availability and investment details. https://juleschabeaux.com/gallery

I’d love to hear your reactions, questions and thoughts below in the comments too – wishing you a beautiful day! Love Jules XXX
