The Enigmatic Brown Hare

The Brown Hare is one of my favourite British mammals and I was so excited to be able to co-create this piece as the 9th piece in my Wild Britain Collection.

Created on 150gsm Goldline Cartridge Paper and using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils this original will form a part of my Solo Exhibition in May 2021 at The Animal Art Gallery in Malton, North Yorkshire, England. I am offering beautiful quality Giclee prints, which you can read more about below.

I’ve always loved Hares and all that they are associated with in ancient druid wisdom, fertility, creativity, intuition and their huge association with the moon and feminine wisdom.

It’s always such a thrill to see them out on a walk or even looking from my cottage window – mainly in the Springtime. Yet their numbers are in huge decline due to human activity and the loss of their habitat.

Their coats are so coarse and thick, it was a true joy to create and the colours and texture all added to my delight. This large male Hare is the size of a medium dog and full of power, speed and agility. I especially love to see them loping along, we sometimes get a special treat when driving down the country lanes where we live to have a Hare escorting us up the lane!

I hope you love this piece, I’d love to hear your comments and Hare encounters in the comments section too.

If you would like to bring a copy of my original piece into your space or perhaps give him as a gift to a loved one, please message me via my Get in Touch page. Each A4 Giclee print is £40 plus relevant postage and packaging, globally. I can also add a mount for an additional price of £6 if you would like and can offer framing suggestions to you free of charge. Please note that for each original and print that I sell I donate 10% to my local Wildlife Trust charity, helping to support the wildlife that we love and cherish so much.

Thank you so much for your support of my work and I look forward to sharing the next piece in my collection with you soon.

Warm wishes,

Jules XXX
