The Sumatran Tiger

The Sumatran Tiger

Hello there! I am SO excited to share with you that I have started a brand new collection called “Wild Soul”. It’s been bubbling up for a few months now and I’m also delighted to share my very first piece in this collection – The Sumatran Tiger.

Wild Soul for me is about connecting deeply with the soul of these wild beings, listening with your heart, looking deeply into their eyes and feeling into who they really are. The eyes really are the window to the soul and this collection is a series of close up portraits inviting you to connect and learn from them all.

I will be working on Pastelmat paper (which I swear has super magical properties) with glorious soft pastels, which I love so much, they are hugely vibrant and forgiving and really allow me to create dazzling colours and textures, they really are one of my favourite mediums.

I also would like to share more with you about this magnificent Sumatran Tiger. As soon as I saw the reference photo that I was working with, a few weeks ago, he just leapt off the paper and began connecting with me, requesting that I work with him. I’d love to say that it was an entirely pleasurable experience but there is a deep sadness there, his kind are almost gone in the wild, just 400 remain in Indonesia. It is truly heart breaking. Yet all in far from lost… As I searched for more information about the plight of the Sumatran Tiger I found some helpful information from the charitable organisation called “Fauna and Flora International” who are working hard to protect the Sumatran Tiger from poaching, human conflict and habitat destruction. For each piece that is purchased of his image I will donate 10% to this specific charity, to help support the vital work they are doing. It would be catastrophic to lose this stunning Tiger, wouldn’t it?

His energy, as I worked with him filled me with awe, humility and such gratitude. The big cats are global stewards of the eco systems and do such a magnificent job of it. We human folk have so much to learn and remember from their example. They know that we are all interdependent on each other and that only when in true balance will the whole thrive and blossom. These hugely compassionate and powerful leaders yearn for balance to return and do all they can to try to shift things, yet the impact human encroachment has on the whole biosphere is becoming hugely overwhelming, mainly (and so sadly) for the wrong reasons.

So I hope you will take some time and space to sit with and tune into this most wise and benevolent being, he blew my socks off, as they all do in truth and I hope you will connect with him and receive his messages, this huge Wild Soul.

If you would like to bring his stunning energy and wisdom into your home you can now order greetings cards (singles £2.80, multi pack £7.50) and his Sinterix print (£35)over on my brand new SHOP page. If you are interested in the original piece this is also available (£255) – simply contact me HERE.

I hope you love him as much as I do, he truly melted my heart, filled me with love and left me even more determined and dedicated to doing all I can, with my life to help to restore balance to this beautiful and incredibly intelligent and diverse planet, Mother Earth.

Sending you much love,

Jules X
